About Joel Lane Smith DDS
Learn More About Dr. Smith
Dr. Joel Lane Smith's years of extensive training in the field of dentistry have made him the competent cosmetic dentist that he is today. A graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio, TX in 1984, Dr. Smith has since founded his private practice in Beaumont, TX. He takes pride in having introduced neuromuscular dentistry to Southeast Texas with his team of highly qualified professionals. Aside from excelling in his own practice, Dr. Smith has taught other dentists for over 20 years at UTHSC at San Antonio Dental School and as an instructor at LVI Global, the premier post graduate learning institution in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr. Joel Lane Smith is a member of the ADA, AACD, TDA, AGD, and he has obtained his fellowship in the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics. In addition to being involved in the community Dr. Smith works as a member of the board of directors of the Diabetes Awareness Program at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Lamar University in Orange and serves on the LIT Board of Directors. When he is not helping patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles, Dr. Smith enjoys his free time raising and riding Appaloosa horses. He also enjoys the great outdoors. Dr. Smith has taken over 1,000 hours of continued education covering a multitude of topics. He is a clinical instructor at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI Global) where he has taught dentists from around the world to do cosmetic and neuromuscular (TMJ) dentistry for over 17 years!

Candace, RDH
Candace is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from The University of Texas at Houston School of Dental Hygiene. She has been in the dental field for 26 years and has been with Dr. Smith for 19 years.
Candace has the education and training to provide her patients with the most advanced, comprehensive, high standard of care. She has attended advanced continuing education courses, including advanced dental hygiene techniques, neuromuscular dentistry, and the latest dental research and technology.
Candace has one daughter, Brennah. In her free time, she loves spending time with family, exercising, outdoors, fishing, gardening, traveling, cooking, and reading.
Sharon, RDA
Sharon us a Registered Dental Assistant and graduated from San Antonio College. She has been in the dental field for 21 years and with Dr. Smith for over 15 years.
A Southeast Texas Native, Sharon has a son, Wesley and a daughter, Bailee. She enjoys spending time with friends and family. Together they enjoy traveling, raising animals, and rodeo.
Sharon is also the Treatment Coordinator. Through extensive training and continuing education she is able to handle all aspects of the office and enjoys helping patients to plan and reach their dental goals.
Heather, RDA
Heather is a Registered Dental Assistant. She has been in the dental field for 5 years and she loves what she does! She and her family relocated from Houston.
When she met Dr. Smith and his team she knew immediately she had found her dental home. She loves being part of an amazing team.
When Heather is not working, she is at home with her two kids watching movies, baking yummy desserts, and being silly.
Alyssa, RDA
Alyssa is a Registered Dental Assistant. She graduated from Lamar State College - Orange Dental Assisting program. Alyssa is a Southeast Texas native.
She spends her time being involved with her church, traveling, taking naps, and spending time with her family. Alyssa loves meeting new people. Her favorite part of being a dental assistant is the relationships she makes with patients.
Helen - Front Desk
Helen has 6+ years of experience in the dental field. She graduated with an associates degree from Northeast Community College. She is from Southeast Texas.
She spends her free time having fun with her family. She has been married for 26 years now, and has two beautiful children and one soon to be daughter in law. She enjoys camping at the beach, cooking, and taking care of her puppy, Lizzy. Her favorite part of working at the office is meeting new patients and getting to know them.
